Tis the Season of Motivation & Unwinding

As 2010 dwindles down and the holiday season is among us. I challenge each and everyone of you to become less stressed during the holidays which I will address later. Plus, become less demotivated and become more motivated.

Do you never seem to get what you really want in life, the reason may be a few simple attitudes you have acquired that I call "Demotivators." I will list a couple that is common to us all, which we must overcome to attain our goals.

Fear of losing our security- We are so afraid of losing the security we have, that we won't give it up to get the greater security we seek. Give up what you have, in order to get what you want. Refusal to give up anything does not free up the space, time, money, and energy that is needed for new achievements to enter.

Fear of Failure- Challenge your fears, and conquer each fear forever. You will find that every time you conquer a fear, the easier it will be to beat the next one. Remember: Do what you fear the most and you will control that fear. Stop dooming yourself to mediocre lives, instead accept the momentary rejections that success demands.

Self Doubt- When consumed with negative convictions, the belief of everything done will be done wrong. When you're thinking like this it is likely that everything you do will ultimately fail. Instead, of looking at the wrong, look at what was done right. Keep an "Up" attitude, overcome rejection, and keep trying. Soon you'll start to win and before you know it the wins will pile up and smother all self-doubts under a volcano of positive convictions.

Pain of Change- Change is resisted because it means that part of your old self must die, and a self that is unknown to us is born. To overcome this attitude, you should make a habit of trying new things when you don't have to, so you can keep the best of the old in our lives as a strong EMOTIONAL foundation. There is an element of pain in all change, but those you put into motion yourself are far less powerful than the ones thrown at you by others.

The holidays does not have to be stressful. Try these simple tips to help cope.
1.Make a shopping list & check it twice
2.Keep moving- exercise is always a great stress reliever
3.Eat well & be Merry. The fourth and fifth sugar cookie will not lift your spirits!
4.Do not get too ambitious.

Remember to "Simplify the Season"
1.Take a moment to appreciate the simple things
2.Stay flexible
3.If traveling, give yourself plenty of time to arrive at your destination
4.Rein in your expectations

If gifts are stressing you out trying giving:
1.Love, Peace, and Happiness
2.Do a good deed (i.e. Donate to the Toy Drive Kemesha has started)
3.Take a loved one to the doctor. Health is the greatest gift of them all!

1 Corinthians-A Christmas Version

If I decorate my house perfectly with plaid bows, strands of twinkling lights and shiny balls, but do not show love to my family, I’m just another decorator.
If I slave away in the kitchen, baking dozens of Christmas cookies, preparing gourmet meals and arranging a beautifully adorned table at mealtime, but do not show love to my family, I’m just another cook.
If I work at the soup kitchen, carol in the nursing home and give all that I have to charity, but do not show love to my family, it profits me nothing.
If I trim the spruce with shimmering angels and crocheted snowflakes, attend a myriad of holiday parties and sing in the choir’s cantata but do not focus on Christ, I have missed the point.
Love stops the cooking to hug the child. Love sets aside the decorating to kiss the husband. Love is kind, though harried and tired. Love doesn’t envy another’s home that has coordinated Christmas china and table linens.
Love doesn’t yell at the kids to get out of the way, but is thankful they are there to be in the way. Love doesn’t give only to those who are able to give in return but rejoices in giving to those who can’t.
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. Video games will break, pearl necklaces will be lost, golf clubs will rust, but giving the gift of love will endure.

Be Blessed, Happy Kwanzaa, and Merry Christmas!!!
